  Booked as a last minute stay with my dog , received free upgrade upon check in to the apple suite , absolutely loved this suite , couple points that weren't a big issue due to price paid but had i paid £195 a night i wouldn't have been happy with, pee stain on living room carpet from a previous animal hadn't been cleaned , patio doors don't lock properly , inside shower screen plastic edge all black gunge ,bed was super comfy and best nights sleep in ages .
  Only niggle was awoken at 6am by noisy staff smoking and talking outside .
  Treated myself to afternoon tea , it was very nice with the exception of the plain scone which I gave back to waitress ,it was like cement inside , shouldn't have been served .
  Everything else lovely, lemon posset was gorgeous but having had afternoon tea in a few places this one didn't feel great value compared to others for what you got , think sandwiches could be increased ,choice was basic one finger of ham & watercress, one finger of cucumber & cream cheese.
  Great breakfast choices , had full English , poached egg i couldn't eat as raw , white was all jelly inside , bacon was like leather and very difficult to cut , presented well but got the feeling the chef doesn't really care, shame as it lets such a lovely hotel down .
  I would definitely stay again and have coffee and cake but other meals i think i would go elsewhere or make different choices .

  Very pleasant surroundings for a pot of tea and a slice of cake. I've visited a couple of times for less formal business meetings. The place is clean and comfortable, staff are friendly and the prices seemed reasonable.
